Barcelona keen on Brazil star

Spanish giants Barcelona could make a move to sign Brazilian sensation Neymar after monitoring his progress at London 2012.

The tricky forward has impressed at the Olympics so far and scored a free-kick of the highest quality against Belarus. He also provided a clever assist for Chelsea new boy Oscar to convert in the 3-1 win.

These performances have got him noticed by the Spanish giants as well as a number of other clubs around Europe.

Neymar is currently at Santos but could make his move to La Liga this summer and join up with some of the best players in the world.

At the moment his focus is of course to get the gold for Brazil, something which they are the favourites to do.

Barcelona vice-president Jose Maria Bartomeu admitted that they are interested in him, he said: “Neymar? We would like to see him joining after the Olympics. If he decides to come to Europe then we will try to make it Barca.”

The 20-year-old has already proven what a talent he is in his short career, scoring 83 goals in 144 appearances for Santos.

It is likely to take a big sum of money to bring Neymar to the Nou Camp but would be something that fans would want to see.

Should him and Lionel Messi be in the same side and on form together, Barcelona could enjoy one of their most successful seasons to date.

However, if it is a big money move then the likes of Manchester City and PSG may look to step up their interest in the Brazilian as they are two of European footballs biggest spenders.

As mentioned though, his focus will be on the Olympics at the moment and he will not decide his future until they are over. After that, it could be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
