Paddy Power Free Bets US Open Tennis Andy Murray
If Andy Murray is to emerge victorious from Flushing Meadows, he is currently 3/1 with Paddy Power to do so, he will have to negotiate his way past possible tricky ties with Stansilav Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych and Rafael Nadal before even contemplating a final.
Murray’s campaign will start with a relatively easy tie against Lukas Lacko, Slovakia’s world number 72, but he can expect a tough ride from the quarter final onwards.
Both Berdych and Nadal can boast 2010 Grand Slam successes against Murray, and Berdych, a 16/1 shot with Stan James for the US Open title, will be hoping for a repeat of his French Open straight sets win.
Top seed Nadal faces his first major test in the quarter final, if fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco can navigate around a tough tie with David Nalbandian in the third round.
Favourite Roger Federer, 9/4 with Bet365 to regain the title he lost to Juan Martin del Potro last year, is in the bottom half of the draw and will face some tough battles against Lleyton Hewitt and Robin Soderling if he is to make the semi-final.
Awaiting Federer will be either Andy Roddick or Novak Djokovic, should the American survive a fourth round meeting with Nikolay Davydenko and the Serb be able to conquer in-form Mardy Fish.
The first round doesn’t provide any major match-ups but Davydenko could face a potentially tricky second round tie with Richard Gasquet, the Frenchman continuing his comeback from a drugs ban.
